Apartamento Mitcentro Overview

First Impressions

Walking down Pasaje Mitjana, you might almost miss Apartamento Mitcentro — it’s tucked into one of those narrow pedestrian streets that make Málaga’s centro histórico so charming. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of the city, nothing flashy, but honestly that’s part of what I liked about it. You’re staying in a real neighborhood here, not some tourist bubble. The entrance is straightforward, and while this three-star property doesn’t have a grand lobby, there’s something refreshing about the no-nonsense approach.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Apartamento Mitcentro — the location is genuinely spectacular, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Calle Larios, Málaga’s main shopping street, but you’re on a quiet side passage where you won’t hear the crowds at night. The Picasso Museum? Maybe five minutes on foot. Cathedral and Alcazaba? Same deal.

I actually timed it because I’m that kind of person, and you can reach the beach at La Malagueta in about twelve minutes walking at a normal pace. The couples who rate this location so highly (apparently 9.5 out of 10) aren’t exaggerating — it’s that sweet spot where everything’s walkable but you’re not dealing with constant noise.

The Apartment Experience

The rooms here are proper apartments, which means you get a kitchenette and more space than your typical hotel room. Mine had a decent-sized living area with a sofa that actually looked comfortable (I tested it), and the kitchen was small but functional — perfect for making coffee in the morning or storing those jamón and cheese you’ll inevitably buy at the Mercado Central. The bathroom was modern enough, good water pressure, and the air conditioning worked well, which matters more than you’d think during Málaga summers. It’s not upscale by any stretch, but everything felt clean and well-maintained.

Neighborhood Life

What I really appreciated was how the area comes alive in the evenings. There’s a little tapas bar called El Pimpi just around the corner — locals actually go there, which is always a good sign. During the day, you’ll hear the sounds of the city but it’s not overwhelming, and at night it settles into that pleasant Mediterranean quiet. The narrow streets mean you’re walking everywhere, but that’s exactly what you want in Málaga centro. I found myself using the apartment as a proper base, coming back between morning sightseeing and evening tapas crawls.

Why Guests Love It

Look, Apartamento Mitcentro isn’t going to win any design awards, but it nails the fundamentals that matter most to travelers. The location score of 8.8 reflects reality — you’re in the absolute heart of everything without paying premium hotel prices. It’s particularly great for couples who want to explore the city on foot and come back to their own space rather than a tiny hotel room. The apartment setup means you can live a bit like a local, even if it’s just for a few days. For a three-star property in this location, it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense.

Locals suggest to book apartments in Malaga around Pedregalejo for chiringuito grills, paddleboard rentals, and calm coves.

Amazing location in the heart of Malaga, surrounded by great restaurants and bars. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped with essentials like an iron, hairdryer, reliable hot water, and air conditioning for heating or cooling. The bed was very comfortable, and the lift made access easy. Perfect place to stay for exploring Malaga—highly recommended!

  • Austra from Latvia (9/10)

It was cosy and super comfortable! The communication with the owners was great. They even were ok with finding me the link for the comfy bedding, as I want that myself. The house has a small elevator if you don’t want to take the stairs. Felt safe as there were cameras in the staircase. The washing machine works perfectly, but make sure to get your own powder for the wash. Amazing light blocking windows for complete darkness if you want to sleep in. For the first 2 days it was tricky to don’t the location, but as we learned some orienteers around- was easy. And the location is perfect walking distance for all that Malaga has to offer.
I would come back and recommend for others
