Caleta Homes – Ancha del Carmen Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Caleta Homes – Ancha del Carmen feels like discovering one of Málaga’s best-kept secrets. This four-star property isn’t your typical hotel — it’s actually a collection of carefully curated apartments scattered throughout the historic center, and honestly, that’s what makes it so special. You’re not just staying in Málaga; you’re living in it, right in the heart where locals grab their morning coffee and evening tapas. The property offers an authentic experience that transforms how you connect with the city.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, you really can’t get more central than this. The location score of 9.5 isn’t just marketing fluff — couples consistently rate it 9.6, and after spending time here, I get why. You’re literally steps from the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum is around the corner, and that gorgeous pedestrian street Calle Larios? You can practically roll out of bed and be there in two minutes. What I love most is how you can duck into authentic tapas bars that tourists walking by would never notice, but you will because you’re staying right in the neighborhood. Every corner reveals something new and distinctly Malagueño.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment has its own personality — some overlook charming narrow streets where you’ll hear the clip-clop of horse carriages, others face quieter courtyards perfect for morning coffee. The spaces feel genuinely local, not like sanitized hotel rooms. You’ll find a proper kitchen stocked with everything you need, which is brilliant when you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby Mercado Central and cook something simple. The design strikes that perfect balance between modern comfort and Andalusian charm, creating an inviting atmosphere for extended stays.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they actually offer private parking, which is gold in this part of the city. Trust me, trying to navigate Málaga’s historic center by car and find parking can be a nightmare, so having that sorted is huge. The staff knows the area inside and out, too. They’ll point you toward the best local spots and help you avoid the tourist traps that cluster around the main attractions. This level of local knowledge truly enhances your entire stay.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back isn’t just the prime location or the well-equipped apartments — it’s the feeling of being a temporary local rather than just another tourist. You’ll find yourself shopping at the same markets as Malagueños, discovering tiny plazas that don’t appear in guidebooks, and developing your own routine in this ancient city. The 8.9 rating reflects something important: this place delivers on its promise of authentic Málaga living without sacrificing comfort or convenience. It’s perfect for couples who want to explore the city on foot, soak up the local atmosphere, and return each evening to a space that feels like home. Every visit becomes a genuine immersion into the culture and rhythm of southern Spain.

Olaz from Poland (9/10)
The facility is perfectly located, well-kept, and clean, just like the other properties of this host. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances. The only thing missing was a coffee maker, but this doesn't affect the rating negatively. Guests also have access to an open outdoor terrace on the top floor of the building.

A lovely apartment, in a nice area, close enough to the centre. The apartment is nicely done out and very modern, with the majority of amenities. We would absolutely stay here again.
