Home Art Apartments Málaga Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Home Art Apartments Málaga feels like discovering a well-kept secret right in the middle of everything that matters in Málaga. The building sits on Plaza de la Merced — honestly, you couldn’t ask for a better spot if you tried. This four-star property has that perfect balance where it feels upscale without being stuffy, and the moment you step inside, you get why couples are rating the location so highly.

The Heart of Málaga

You know what’s brilliant about staying here? You’re literally surrounded by the city’s best bits. Picasso’s birthplace is right on the same square — I mean, you can see it from some windows. The Cervantes Theatre is a two-minute walk, and if you want to hit the beach, it’s maybe ten minutes on foot. But here’s the thing that really matters: you’re in a proper Spanish plaza where locals actually hang out, not some tourist bubble. There are tapas bars where people spill onto the square with their drinks, and the whole area comes alive in the evenings.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment here feels more like staying in a friend’s well-designed place than a typical hotel room. The spaces are thoughtfully laid out — not huge, but cleverly designed so everything has its place. The kitchen setup is actually functional (not just for show), which is perfect if you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the market and have a proper Spanish breakfast. The modern touches work well with the building’s character, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that you’ll sleep through the plaza’s evening buzz.

Living Like a Local

What I love about this setup is how it changes your whole Málaga experience. Instead of rushing back to some hotel district, you’re already where you want to be. Morning coffee at the corner café becomes routine, and you start recognizing the shop owners. The Atarazanas market is close enough for daily visits, and when friends ask where you’re staying, you can actually give them a proper landmark they’ll know. Plus, having that extra space means you can spread out a bit — leave your guidebooks on the table, hang up tomorrow’s outfit, actually unpack.

Why Guests Love It

The location score of 9.6 isn’t just numbers — it’s about waking up in the center of things without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but the plaza itself has this lovely residential feel in the mornings and late evenings. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood well, and they’re good at pointing you toward the less obvious gems nearby. It’s the kind of place where you feel settled after just one night, and by the end of your stay, you’re already planning your next visit to Málaga.

  • Rashida from United Kingdom (9/10)

Great communication with the property staff, checking in on line was simple and I was able to drop my luggage off earlier that the check in time which was really helpful. The location is perfect, cafes, and supermarket just a few steps away and two minutes walk to the historic centre. The apartment had everything I needed for a 4 night stay and plenty of room to do remote working with great internet connection.

Our stay close to Plaza de la Merced was a brilliant relief from bleak cold Blighty. It’s a lively busy location especially during the Reyes celebrations that fell during our stay.

The apartment was accessed via codes supplied by the agents…you need to fully complete registration to gain access!!! Staff were great and helped resolve some access issues late in the evening…as we’d omitted some info.

Apartments are situated over 4 stories and the lift was a godsend to lug our cases aloft. It’s an old building that’s well insulated and really warm even in the midst of winter.

The apartment is clearly designed for short term lets and offered all that we needed for a few days….a comfortable bed, decent pillows, quality bedding and towels. The kitchen is well equipped and sufficient for a few days. Previous guests had kindly left us access to their TV subscriptions (beware).

It was great place for us ( a couple) to stay but a larger group may struggle even though an extra bed is available.
