Hotel Del Pintor Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Del Pintor on Álamos street, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something good. This three-star property sits right in the thick of Málaga Centro, and I mean right in it — you’re literally surrounded by the buzz of the city center. The building itself has that classic Spanish charm without trying too hard, and honestly, the location alone makes you feel like you’ve made a smart choice.

The Heart of Málaga

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Málaga. The Picasso Museum? Five minutes on foot. Cathedral? Same deal. You know what’s really nice though? Despite being so central, couples absolutely rave about this spot, which tells you it’s not just about convenience.

There’s something about the neighborhood that just works, especially when you want to duck into a tapas bar or catch that evening paseo along Calle Larios.

Your Room and Space

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing fancy, but everything you actually need is there. The beds are proper comfortable, and the whole place feels well-maintained. When you’re spending most of your day exploring Málaga anyway, you just want a place that feels like a good home base.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is actually pretty well sorted — they do continental style, but they’ve also got gluten-free options if that’s your thing. What I really appreciated was the breakfast to go option, because sometimes you just want to grab something and head straight out to catch the morning light at the Alcazaba. The restaurant area has that relaxed Spanish morning vibe where you can take your time with coffee, but you’re not stuck there if you’ve got places to be.

Perfect Location Benefits

The 8.5 rating and the incredible location score aren’t accidents. This place gets the fundamentals right — you’re staying somewhere that puts you in the center of everything without the chaos of a massive hotel. The fact that they’ve got private parking available is honestly a godsend if you’re driving, and anyone who’s tried to park in Málaga Centro knows exactly what that means.

It’s one of those hotels where you end up recommending it to friends because it just makes sense — good value, great spot, and you wake up ready to dive into whatever Málaga has planned for you that day. The central location means you can explore authentic tapas bars, visit world-class museums, and experience the vibrant Spanish culture right at your doorstep. Whether you’re here for a romantic getaway or cultural exploration, this hotel provides the perfect launching point for your Málaga adventure.

Reviews of Hotel Del Pintor

I've got a better room when I arrived. And the voucher for a coffee, which I used in the morning. There were water and biscuits awaiting me in the room. And the welcome message.

The hotel was situated in the centre of the shopping district, a short walk to parking, the castle, the shops, bars & restaurants.
Check in was very easy & the receptionist was friendly, welcoming & helpful.

Each guest is given a complimentary coffee voucher that can be redeemed in reception. There is a small pastry selection that can be bought to have with your freebie!

The hotel was basic but very well designed with bright colourful (mainly red) artwork. There is a 'solarium' roof area with a few tables & chairs plus sunbeds.

My room was a nice size with a hidden wardrobe & a hidden shelving. The bathroom was big, with a shower over the bath. Towels were a bit tatty & mine had a stained edge. There were also long hairs on the tiles near the sink that definately were not mine.

The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows.

My air-conditioning was noisy & hadn't been set to cool (I only found this out in the morning when I mentioned it to the receptionist), so although I tried to turn it down to 16°c it was still heating the room. I was hot & didn't get much sleep. There were no opening windows in my room.

The Continental Breakfast was served on a stand beautifully presented. No fresh choice of Gluten Free (packet muffin & packet croissant).

  • Mr from United Kingdom (8/10)

The quality, style, cleanliness was amazing. I loved the black, red and white theme, it was contextual and had meaning. The location, in the heart of old town amongst the local Malagaians was outstanding.

Excellent location, very nice staff and super cute room.
