iloftmalaga Martínez Maldonado Overview
First Impressions
Walking into iloftmalaga Martínez Maldonado, you immediately get that modern apartment-hotel vibe that’s become so popular in Málaga lately. It’s one of those places that feels more like staying in a friend’s well-designed space than a traditional hotel — which honestly works perfectly for this three-star property. The lobby is sleek without trying too hard, and the staff actually seems to know what they’re doing, which isn’t always a given at this price point.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Cruz de Humilladero — it’s not the old town that everyone talks about, but that’s actually what makes it great. You’re close enough to everything that matters (about 15 minutes to the historic center) but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering — free private spots on-site, which is basically gold in Málaga. I mean, try finding that in the city center without paying through the nose.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in felt spacious and thoughtfully designed, with that clean Scandinavian influence you see in a lot of newer Spanish properties. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but an actual functional space where you can prepare real meals. The bed was comfortable enough, and the bathroom had good water pressure, which you know matters more than fancy marble when you’re actually living there for a few days. The natural light streaming through the windows made the space feel even more inviting and open.
Neighborhood Insights
Cruz de Humilladero has this residential feel that gives you a better sense of how locals actually live in Málaga. There’s a decent supermarket within walking distance, and you’ll find some authentic tapas spots that haven’t been discovered by every travel blog yet. The area feels safe — I saw plenty of families and older residents going about their daily routines, which is always a good sign. Plus, getting to the beach or the airport is straightforward from here without the hassle of navigating narrow old town streets.
Why Guests Love It
That 8.5 rating makes sense once you spend a night or two here — it’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the location and the freedom that comes with apartment-style accommodations. Having your own kitchenette and private parking does make for a more relaxed stay together. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I find refreshing. You get good value, a solid location that’s well-connected but not touristy, and the comfort of a home away from home. For a three-star property in Málaga, that’s actually pretty hard to beat.
To book a hotel in Malaga during Malaga Fair, visitors plan ahead to balance caseta dancing with beachfront siestas.

The apartment is attractive, comfortable, and very clean. The aircon works well, the shower is very good, and the kitchen is well-equipped and fully usable. The location is ideal, in my opinion: a twenty-minute walk from the airport train, with a late-night pizza place and an early-morning bakery literally right outside the front door.
Andrea from Czech Republic (9/10)
Nicely furnished apartment with all the things you could need. Everything was clean. I received easy instruction for self check-in. The bed is comfortable and all sightseeings were near. Parking is good, but might be easier with small car. The kitchen is fully equiped.

Location is great, parking space very useful, and a beautiful apartment. It is very well equipped with some very smart and efficient products. Very clean up on entry which should be the standard. A couple of towels each, and overall a very comfortable place to stay.

Apartment was really clean and had everything you need to feel like at home. We greatly appreciated free underground parking and swimming pool on the roof. Apartment is situated in residential area but it doesn't look as great as Malaga city centre, however we likedl ocal cafe/ bakery downstairs as well as shops & bars in close proximity. Walking distance to historic centre was approx. 1.5km

Overall clean and comfortable one bed apartment with great amenities. Staff were responsive and helpful when the internet was down. Free parking on site which is what we needed.

Comfy bed and sofa. Great shower. Had all necessary appliances. Good location near cafes, bars and supermarkets.
Arla from Canada (8/10)
The apartment is bright, clean and well maintained. The A/C worked and the kitchen provided most of the self catering essentials. The unit is very secure and quiet. The location is excellent, easy to find by car and very walkable. The rooftop pool is a great spot to cool down after a hot day of exploring.
