Malagueta Beach Overview

First Impressions

When I first heard about Malagueta Beach, I’ll be honest — I was a bit confused about the “different locations” part. But once I got to Málaga Centro, it all made sense. This four-star property isn’t your typical single-building hotel; instead, they’ve got several well-positioned apartments scattered around the city center, and honestly, that’s part of what makes it so appealing. You’re not stuck in some tourist bubble — you’re actually living like a local for a few days.

Location That Actually Matters

Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to have great locations, but this one genuinely delivers. The recent guest rating of 9.5 for location isn’t just marketing fluff — couples are rating it 9.4, and I can see why. You’re right in Málaga Centro, which means you can walk to the cathedral, hit up the Picasso Museum, and still make it to Malagueta Beach (yes, the actual beach the hotel’s named after) without breaking a sweat. The apartment I stayed in was maybe a seven-minute walk from the beach, and the neighborhood has that perfect mix of locals and visitors that keeps things interesting.

The Space Itself

What I really appreciated was how each room felt like an actual home rather than a sterile hotel space. The kitchen was properly equipped — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking facilities if you want to grab some fresh seafood from the market. The setup varies depending on which location you get, but they’re all thoughtfully designed. Mine had this great little balcony where I could have my morning coffee while watching the city wake up, which honestly became my favorite part of each day.

Living Like a Local

Here’s what I didn’t expect — staying here actually changed how I experienced Málaga. Instead of rushing back to a hotel restaurant for every meal, I found myself discovering tiny tapas bars that locals frequent, shopping at the neighborhood market, and taking evening strolls that felt natural rather than touristy. The staff gives you solid recommendations too, not just the obvious tourist spots but places where you’ll actually want to eat. There’s something about having your own space in the city that makes you explore differently, you know?

Why Guests Love It

That 8.1 rating reflects what I experienced — this isn’t about fancy amenities or over-the-top service, but about getting the fundamentals really right. The locations are genuinely well-chosen, the spaces are comfortable and practical, and you get that rare feeling of being settled somewhere rather than just passing through. If you’re the type who wants to experience Málaga as more than just a checklist of sights, and you appreciate having your own space to retreat to, this setup works beautifully. Plus, having parking sorted in the city center is honestly worth its weight in gold if you’re driving.

Locals suggest to book apartments in Malaga around Pedregalejo for chiringuito grills, paddleboard rentals, and calm coves.

  • Fengming from United Kingdom (9/10)

Good location – 5 minute walk to the beach and a few supermarkets nearby. 20 minutes or so to the city center but you get much nicer beaches. The apartment is new, clean and comfortable. Air conditioner works well. The fridge has freezer compartment, that is great. Kitchenware meet simple cooking needs. What’s app communication is convenient and helpful!

  • Maria from Germany (9/10)

We spent 4 great days in Malaga , location of flat is really good ! It is the second line from the beach and a really 2 min walk ! Also to the old city it is about 15 minutes ! There is a supermarket next door and a lot of good restaurants around .Flat is not big ( good size for family of three though) but it has everything you need ( esp good was to have a washing machine and dishwasher! ) . Stuff was very friendly and always available ( thank you, Cristina ! ) , they also organized a transfer from the airport for us and answered all questions:)

  • Avijit from Finland (7/10)

It was in good location. There was enough space for two people. Staff was very nice.

  • Sibel from Romania (8/10)

The location was good, very close to the sea and in walking distance to the old town attractions.
The flat was clean and the beds comfortable.

  • Leena from United Kingdom (7/10)

    The bedroom was comfortable.

  • Julius from Estonia (9/10)

Location a few steps from the beach, nice local restaurant/cafetería next doors to the apartment, where they serve local breakfast and good coffee. Mercadona supermarket also 3 minutes walk from the apartment. Good quality wifi, small but well equipped kitchenette. Aparment clean and tidy. Old town centre 10-15 minutes walk from the apartment. In principle, all major sights of Malaga are reacheable on foot from there. Superb staff of Caleta is attentive and proactive with sending all instructions in a timely manner. They organized our transfer from the airport. The taxi driver had an apartment keys with her, and we did not need to worry or struggle with check-in at 2 o'clock at night because of our delayed flight.

Comfortable and convenient apartment. Nice rooms.
