Soho Boutique Colón Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Soho Boutique Colón on Alameda Colón, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something good. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Málaga, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, couples consistently rate it 9.5 out of 10, which tells you everything you need to know. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention but definitely catches your eye as you approach.

Perfect Central Location

You know what’s great about staying here? Everything in Málaga Centro is literally at your doorstep. The Picasso Museum is just a few minutes’ walk away, and you can easily stroll to the Cathedral or wander through the old town’s narrow streets without breaking a sweat. I actually found myself walking everywhere instead of taking taxis — the pedestrian areas are right there, and you’re close enough to the port that you can smell the sea breeze on certain days. It’s one of those locations where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Málaga, not just passing through it.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that boutique hotel charm — thoughtfully designed without being overly fussy. The space felt modern and clean, with enough character to remind you you’re not in some generic chain hotel. What I appreciated most was how quiet it was despite being in such a central spot; the windows did a good job keeping the street noise to a minimum. The bed was comfortable, and there were enough outlets and surfaces for all my travel gear — those little practical details that actually matter when you’re settling in for a few days.

Morning Fuel

Breakfast here is a proper buffet setup, and they do it well. I’m usually pretty picky about hotel breakfasts, but this one had a good mix of Spanish and international options that kept me satisfied. The coffee was actually decent — not amazing, but definitely better than what you’d expect from most hotel breakfast spreads. They had fresh fruit, pastries, and enough variety that I didn’t get bored even after staying several days. The breakfast area gets good natural light, which makes for a pleasant start to the day.

Why Guests Love It

Look, there’s a reason this place consistently scores so well with travelers. It’s that sweet spot between location, comfort, and value that’s honestly hard to find in Málaga’s city center. You’re paying for a boutique experience without the boutique price tag, and you’re getting a location that saves you time and taxi money every single day. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions, and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes you want to come back. For couples especially, it’s become a bit of a go-to — and after staying here, I can see why.

Early hotels booking in Malaga secures jazz festival seats, white village day trips, and wine cellar pairings.

  • Mateusz from Poland (9/10)

    Actually everything was nice.
I liked room size, bed size, bed comfort, amount of pillows, temperature, windows noise reduction, bathroom, cleaness and smell, breakfast choice and quality, great coffee (Illy), staff, localisation, light.
What we liked most was the big windows with view directly on palm trees. I asked for room on that side of the building and I loved it. Palm trees behind the windows really makes it special when you travel in winter from north Europe to the south.
