Suite Alameda Center Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Suite Alameda Center on Calle Martínez, you immediately get that “I’m right in the thick of things” feeling that makes Málaga so addictive. This three-star property sits smack in the centro histórico, and I mean really in it — not on some side street pretending to be central. The building has that classic Andalusian charm without trying too hard, and honestly, the location alone makes you feel like you’ve made a smart choice before you even check in.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally surrounded by everything that makes Málaga worth visiting. The Picasso Museum is practically around the corner, and you can walk to the Cathedral in about three minutes (I timed it). What really gets me excited though is how close you are to the best tapas bars in the city. Couples absolutely rave about this location, and I get it — there’s something romantic about stepping out your door and being instantly part of the Spanish evening paseo. The narrow streets around here come alive after sunset, but it never feels touristy or overwhelming.
The Suites
The rooms at Suite Alameda Center actually live up to the “suite” part of the name, which isn’t always a given at three-star properties. You get proper living spaces with separate areas for sleeping and relaxing — perfect when you want to spread out after a day of sightseeing. The decor is modern but warm, with those little touches that show someone actually thought about how travelers use a space. Air conditioning works well (crucial in Málaga summers), and the kitchenettes are surprisingly functional if you want to grab some jamón and cheese from the nearby market.
Getting Around
One thing that surprised me was how walkable everything becomes when you’re staying here. Sure, you could take buses or taxis, but why would you? The port area with all its restaurants is maybe a ten-minute stroll, and the main shopping streets are even closer. I found myself barely using transportation because honestly, walking through these old streets never gets boring. There’s always some little plaza or hidden bar you didn’t notice before. The train station isn’t far either, which makes day trips to places like Ronda totally doable.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is that perfect balance between being in the center of everything while still feeling like a proper retreat. You’re not dealing with the chaos of some massive hotel lobby, but you’re also not stuck in some residential area wondering where all the action is. The staff seems to genuinely know the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the local spots rather than just the obvious tourist traps. For the price point, you’re getting way more space and character than you’d find at most chain hotels, plus that unbeatable location that makes every day feel effortless.

Very comfortable, basic and quiet apartment in excellent location. See my extended review in December 2023.

The location is perfect. Just on the edge of the pedestrian area, metro and bus stops (including for the airport bus) are around the corner. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.
The living room is actually bigger than it looks on the photos.
Next to a busy street, yet it is rather quiet.
Comfortable bedroom, decent size bathroom.Colin from United Kingdom (8/10)
The apartment (406) appeared to be newly decorated/furnished and situated in a very central location. It is basic, well-equipped with a window view overlooking a main road to the market and municipal offices across the road. It has the increasing rarity of a bath, although a bit short for me, it was a definite plus. The rest of the floor (fourth) appeared to be occupied by businesses and we weren't bothered by noise, nor did we encounter anyone else in the lift or corridors over 4 days. The living room had a top end TV package but unfortunately we couldn't find any live Spanish TV channels, just endless films, games, youtube, etc, so we hardly used it.
