The Sunnydise Apartments Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to The Sunnydise Apartments on Calle Fuentecilla, you immediately get that “local neighborhood” vibe that’s honestly refreshing after seeing so many cookie-cutter hotels. This three-star property sits right in the thick of things in Málaga Centro, and I mean really in the center — you can practically feel the pulse of the city from the moment you step inside. The building has that authentic Spanish character that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere real, not just another tourist bubble.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you’re literally surrounded by everything that makes Málaga special. The Picasso Museum is basically around the corner, and you can walk to the cathedral in about five minutes without breaking a sweat. What really struck me is how couples seem to gravitate toward this spot (they rate it 8.7 apparently), and honestly, I get it. There’s something romantic about being able to stroll to tapas bars, then wander back through those narrow streets without worrying about taxis or metro schedules. You know what’s even better? The morning coffee runs — there are at least three great cafés within a two-minute walk.
The Apartment Experience
Each apartment feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room, which is exactly what you want when you’re planning to stay more than a night or two. The kitchen setup is actually functional — I’m talking real counter space and appliances that work properly, not those tiny hotel kitchenettes that barely fit a coffee maker. The rooms are clean and well-maintained, though don’t expect premium finishes at this price point. What you do get is space to spread out and that feeling of living like a local for a few days.
Neighborhood Life
The real magic happens when you step outside and realize you’re in one of those neighborhoods where actual malagueños live and work. There’s a small grocery store practically next door, and the restaurant scene around here leans more toward family-run places than tourist traps. I spent one evening just wandering the surrounding streets and kept discovering little plazas and bars that clearly cater to locals first. The noise level is what you’d expect from a city center location — it’s lively but not overwhelming, especially if you’re used to urban living.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to The Sunnydise Apartments isn’t any single standout feature — it’s the combination of being genuinely central without feeling touristy, having actual space to live in, and getting solid value for what you pay. The 7.7 rating feels about right; it’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but it delivers on the basics while putting you right where you want to be in Málaga. If you’re the type who’d rather spend money on great meals and experiences instead of hotel frills, this place makes a lot of sense. Plus, having your own parking spot in this part of the city (when available) is honestly worth its weight in gold.
Best hotels in Malaga blend rooftop pools, Andalusian courtyards, and citrus-perfumed spas.

the apartment is at good location. the bed is nice, and there is enough light in the apartment. Iron is provided and it's useful for us. kitchen is well equipped although there is no cooking oil, seasoning or coffee provided. the shower has good water pressure and enough hot water. Small portable heater is provided, which is also useful in winter.
