Here’s what I really appreciated about staying here — you’re actually living like a local for a few days. Puerto de la Torre isn’t touristy at all, which means you’ll find authentic tapas bars where the menu isn’t translated into five languages and grocery stores that close for siesta. It’s about a 15-minute drive to Málaga’s historic center, but honestly, having that buffer zone from the cruise ship crowds was refreshing. The area feels safe and residential, perfect for evening walks when you want to decompress from sightseeing.

The Room Experience

My room was simple but thoughtfully arranged — clean lines, decent air conditioning (crucial in Andalusian summers), and a balcony that caught the morning light just right. The beds are comfortable enough, though don’t expect thread counts that’ll make you swoon. What I did love was how quiet everything was at night. No street noise, no slamming doors from party-goers — just the kind of peaceful sleep you actually need when you’re doing serious exploring during the day. The bathroom was compact but functional, with good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

Morning Fuel

The continental breakfast here does exactly what it should — gets you fed and ready for the day without any fuss. Fresh bread, local jam, decent coffee, and usually some fruit that’s actually ripe. They also offer breakfast to go, which I used a couple times when I wanted to catch early morning light at the Alcazaba. It’s not elaborate, but it’s genuine and filling. The dining area overlooks a small garden, and there’s something nice about starting your day somewhere that feels more like a home than a hotel lobby.

  The place is very quiet, and nice. With amazing views, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfas is a full continental with quite a good amount of scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, ham, cheese, etc…
  Rooms are spacious enough and the terraces with views are great.

  We arrived late from our flight and the lovely man held open the kitchen so we could eat! Our room had a balcony with a fantastic view. I had requested a bath if possible and they gave us a different room with a bath. The views over the city were amazing and it’s a very quiet neighbourhood. We will certainly stay here again when we next come.

  Loved everything about the villa, a very unique experience and place. The decor was individual and stylish, art had a personal family touch. Our room was in a great position within the villa with great views over the city. The staff were extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much bother. The food was delicious and delightful. We would love to visit again.
